WORLDSPACE Radio to Make a Comeback in India

WORLDSPACE was big once upon a time until it slowly vanished from TV commercials and stores, eventually. After all these years of lying dormant, it's ready to make a comeback in India. Saregama India Ltd. and Timbre Media Pvt. Ltd together will bring back WORLDSPACE in India, through a strategic alliance between the two parties. The two companies will use Saregama’s extensive audio library to provide 24-hour radio stations covering all genres from old Hindi films to classical music in a variety of languages.

This time you won’t be limited to that little black box at home. Here’s what Ms. Seetal R. Iyer, Co-Founder and Head of Content, Timbre Media had to say. “ For our listeners, this means that their favourite WORLDSPACE stations like Farishta, Jhankaar, Gandharv, and Shruti, to name a few, will be back again soon on various platforms.” Sounds like WORLDSPACE will be re-introduced as a service that you can avail of even through your mobile, which makes sense. We still don’t have any details on the subscription rates or when this will be available yet.
